Great Programming

70 Days for 70 Years

Our Thanks to Rabbi Hershel and Rebbetzin Sima Becker for sharing this program.

Kiruv program that works-programs, fundraising, broad appeal

Are you interested in a program that will involve your current members as well as open the door for greater community participation?

How about a program that pays for itself and can bring in revenue?

Ten years ago we participated in the 60 days for 60 years Holocaust living memorial project and found it to be an excellent kiruv tool.

It gave us the materials to engage our regulars in an ongoing, meaningful manner. It also provided a unique opportunity to reach out to the broader community. The program had universal appeal across a broad spectrum of backgrounds and ages.

At present we are working with United Synagogue/UK (under the auspices of the Chief Rabbi) to bring the 70 days for 70 years program to as many communities as possible in the United States. It can be successfully implemented by institutions both large and small. Each individual participant receives a book of essays on important topics in Torah, Judaica and history as well as a memorial card of one of the victims of the Holocaust (with name, picture-when available, and other information regarding their life and death) in whose memory they will be learning. The program launches on January 25, 2015 and runs through the first Seder night – 70 days corresponding to the 70 years from the liberation of Auschwitz.  Daily learning of the essays (written by noted authors such as Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, Elie Weisel, Yaffa Eliach, Rabbi Warren Goldstein, Dr. Abraham Twerski, Rabbi Paysach Krohn, Rebbetzin Tziporah Heller and Rabbi Berel Wein) gives life to the neshamah of the niftar as well as elevates the lives of the living.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in bringing this program to your community. We would be glad to discuss ways for you to run a successful engaging program tailored to the needs of your institution.
