Enough is Enough!
To My Fellow Young Israelites, I rarely send an email like this to everyone but I am sure many of you share my outrage over the numerous vicious attacks in Israel that most recently led to the death of heroine Police Officer Hadar Cohen and fellow Police Officer Ravit being wounded before the three terrorists were killed. The sickening headline of the small article in the Florida Sun Sentinel said "3 Palestinians, 1 Officer killed in Israel Firefight." We know such a headline would not appear if two American women police officer's were viciously attacked with the result of one dying and another wounded before the three terrorists were killed. We have often criticized the U.S. State Department but on this attack its spokesman Mr. Kirby did strongly condemn it and the incitement that has led to it and he responded nicely to an Arab journalist questioning the condemnation. Video of the condemnation and his response to the Arab journalist is linked here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRVM3-YXw-8#action=share Hadar Cohen was two months on the force and still in training and still managed in an instant to shoot one of the three terrorists while being shot. She prevented a much greater attack. The headline from the Sun Sentinel (Other media had worse headlines) made it out like this was somehow a legitimate attack and it should never be described as a firefight. I still remember watching the video a month ago of two women police officers in Israel running to a terrorist attack in the old city and shooting and killing the terrorists who had murdered two Israelis. The strength of Israel and the citizens of Israel is really beyond comprehension. The heroism of the women police officers in Israel is extraordinary to me. We are here in America and the least we can do is make clear to our media outlets that their coverage is unacceptable. We can also visit Israel and buy Israeli products like with our Mishloach Manot project. Within hours of the attack, PA President Abbas was meeting with the families of terrorists and referring to them as Martyrs. This is one of the reasons why we took action in submitting a statement for the hearing on Tuesday on going after Palestinian Arab terrorists who murder Americans because it is about what is right and just and it will help Israel's fight to deter terrorism. Please see Hamodia article on the Hearing linked here. http://hamodia.com/2016/02/03/congress-grills-doj-on-inaction-over-u-s-victims-of-palestinian-terror/ We know Hashem is protecting Israel but we are also required to do what we can and not just vent to our friends and family. Speak to your Representatives in Congress and ask them to speak up in support of Israel and to send letters and create legislation to assist Israel at this critical time. Contact your media outlets and let them know the coverage is not acceptable. Your voice matters. We need to make our voices heard. Israel needs our support NOW! שבת שלום
