Motion to Improve Jonathan Pollard's Parole

Dear Friends,

As you are all aware, with Hashem's help, Jonathan Pollard was freed from prison and granted parole after serving a thirty year jail term on November 20.  Despite the Parole Board determining that Jonathan Pollard had behaved well and was not a threat to commit another crime they have put in place draconian parole terms. These terms include Pollard being forced to wear an ankle bracelet or due to health reasons for Pollard a gps monitor on his wrist. This bracelet forces Pollard to sit for two hours to plug in and charge it and since it lasts no more than 24 hours he is being ordered in essence to violate Shabbat every week not to mention Yom Tov.

Pollard has also been ordered to have home confinement from 7pm until 7am (recently they offered to adjust for Shabbat and Saturday night).  The Home Confinement means he must answer any phone calls in the middle of the night and any one knocking on his door as well.  This could also force him to violate Shabbat.

Pollard's attorneys, Eliot Lauer and Jaques Semmelman,  have filed a motion with US District Judge Katherine Forrest to change these conditions. The Motion is being heard today, Monday December 14 at 2pm.

We encourage our members to say psalms 16 and 142 to help a fellow Jew in need.

Thank you, wishing you a Happy Chanukah.
